Jacquelyn A. Fernández is based out of the firm’s Chicago south side office. She received her legal education at DePaul University College of Law and her Juris Doctor degree in 2005, at which time she joined the firm as an attorney.
Both during and after her legal studies, Jacquelyn focused her endeavors on the south side community. While at DePaul she taught Street Law to high school students at her Chicago Public School alma mater, a course which focused on teaching the fundamentals of the legal process and training for the city-wide mock trial competition. Since 2010, Jacquelyn has also served on the Board of Directors of the East Side Chamber of Commerce, and was nominated and elected President of the Chamber in 2011.
Aside from her strong litigation practice, Jacquelyn’s academic and professional background also includes a focus in Latin American legal issues. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in Mexico with indigenous defense and human rights networks. She is fluent in written and conversational Spanish.
Currently, Jacquelyn practices in the area of plaintiff personal injury and has consistently achieved successful results for her clients at arbitration, mediation, and trial. Some of these successes are listed.
Jacquelyn is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. She is also admitted to the General Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
As a seasoned trial attorney, Jacquelyn’s many successes have been published by The Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter and the Illinois Settlement Reporter.
