The Vrdolyak Law Group Recovers $4.5 Million for Truck Accident Victim

CHICAGO, July 20, 2017 - The Vrdolyak Law Group recovered $4.5 million for an Illinois man who sustained multiple injuries in an accident with a truck. The trucking company's insurance provider originally offered a settlement that was unacceptable, citing that the victim had a pre-existing condition of rheumatoid arthritis, and was already on disability long before the incident.

"The very nature of the trucking industry breeds negligence that does not exist with other vehicles. While it's an industry that's the easiest to cause serious accidents, it's also one of the hardest from which to get fair compensation," said Eddie Vrdolyak, Managing Partner of The Vrdolyak Law Group.

"Insurance companies frequently try to blame pre-existing conditions for a client's injury. But, an accident can make a pre-existing condition worse, or cause new injuries. If you're injured due to someone else's negligence, it's unfair to be penalized because you may have a prior condition," said Steve Armbruster, Lead Attorney.

"We fought aggressively at trial and forced the insurance company to pay $4.5 million half-way through the jury trial," said Eddie Vrdolyak.
